Chapter Six: Forgotten Gods

              Mr. Thursday took me to the nearest pub and began his story.                                                                                    

“There was once a time, Lysander, that people believed in us.  I was once the god of thunder and lighting.  But when people converted and stopped believing, all of the gods lost their powers and just became regular people. Lysander, we are forgotten gods. The reason I have a little power left is because someone out there still believes in me. Some are so forgotten that they just faded away and one day I will too.”

              “So, do you want me to make everyone believe in the old gods again?

              “No, that would be nice, but no. I want you to destroy a new god.”

              “Do you mean the God?”

              “No, there is a new god being created as we speak. A new god that plans to wipe all us old gods out before our time comes. Soon enough people won’t believe in God anymore.”

              “Really?”

              “Yes.”

              “So, who is this new god?” Mr. Thursday finished his drink.

              “I don’t know.”

              “Okay…so how are we gonna do this?”

              “We need to talk to Anubis”

              “Where is he?”

              “He’s in New Orleans; we’re going to drive to him”

              “Drive? You’re stating we drive to them? Why can’t they just fly over here or something?”

              “I just told you, Lysander”

              “Oh, yeah”

              “I’ll come by your apartment and pick you up tomorrow morning. You better be packed and ready.”  And without letting me respond, Mr. Thursday left.
